Parks Information & Map

Walla Walla is proud of the 18 public parks and facilities sprinkled throughout the city, with over 600 acres of recreation area. Contact the Parks & Recreation office if you need additional information. The map below serves as a guide to the city’s major parks.  Brief descriptions follow.

  1. Veterans Memorial Golf Course
    • 135 acres – 201 E. Rees Avenue.  N. side of Highway 12. 
    • Pro shop:.  18 hole par 72 regulation golf course with tree-lined fairways provides variety and challenge.  Driving range, pro shop, rental carts.  
  2. Borleske Stadium
    • 5 acres – E. Rees Avenue.  S. side of Highway 12.
    • The stadium features a lighted football/baseball field with grandstands and concessions, a soccer field, and a running track. Restrooms and parking.   Home of the Walla Walla Sweets, a summer college wood bat baseball team in June and July.  
  3. Memorial Park
    • 7 acres – Rees Avenue. S. side of Highway 12.  Next to Borleske Stadium. The park includes picnic tables, a stream, and parking.
  4. Parks & Recreation Office/City Service Center
    • 55 Moore Street      
    • Main office:
    • Facility use, program registrations and information, park reservations, street tree and special event permits.
  5. Xeriscape Park
    • 607 E. Isaacs Ave.   At the entrance to Whitman College.
    • A demonstration garden with drought-tolerant grasses, shrubs and trees on display. Also located at this site is the sculpture "From a Hole in the Earth" by Bill Piper.  No restrooms or parking.
  6. Heritage Square
    • 116 E. Main St.  Between Spokane and Colville St.
    • A picnic shelter and play equipment make this a nice lunch spot.  “Windows on the Past” art piece and restrooms.
  7. Crawford Park
    • 106 W. Main.  Behind City Hall.
    • Home to the Walla Walla Farmer’s Market from May thru October.  Also a fireman’s statue and the "Bandstand Pavilion" by artist Wayne Chabre. Restrooms at adjacent transit station.
  8. Washington Park
    • 12 acres – 700 W. Cherry at Cayuse and Cherry Street.
    • Play equipment, picnic tables, basketball courts, and soccer fields. Performing arts stage, walking path.  Large shade trees. Restrooms and parking.   
  9. Fort Walla Walla Park
    • 208 acres - Entrances at 1530 Dalles Military Rd. & 1199 Myra Rd.
    • Picnic shelter and designated picnic areas available for reservation. Outdoor amphitheater site of the Walla Walla Community College Summer Musical.  Play equipment, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball court.  70 acre wildlife preserve with streams and a hiking trail.  Remote control car and airplane facilities, BMX track, skateboard park, disc golf course, off leash dog park.  Vietnam War Memorial, historic military cemetery and Fort Walla Walla Museum.  Restrooms and parking
  10. Jefferson Park
    • 9 acres – 607 Malcolm Street – corner of 9th Ave and Malcolm.
    • A locomotive on display makes this park easy to find.  Play equipment, basketball court, streams and youth fishing pond.  Jefferson Pool opens mid-June to mid-August for ages 10 and under.  Home for Center at the Park for senior citizens. Restrooms and parking.
  11. Mountain View Cemetery
    • 65 acres – 2120 S. 2nd Avenue  
    • Office hours Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
  12. Howard-Tietan Park
    • 19 acres – 616 E. Tietan - corner of Howard & Tietan streets
    • Play equipment, baseball fields, soccer fields. Restrooms and parking.
  13. Pioneer Park
    • 58 acres – 940 E. Alder
    • Walla Walla’s oldest park, established in 1902.  Park has play equipment, soccer field, softball fields, tennis courts, walking paths.  Reservations can be made for Garden Center, Whitman St shelter, Pioneer Park Bandshell, Wedding Fountain.  Free outdoor aviary, historic cannon, rose garden.  Large shade trees, flower gardens, ponds.  Restrooms and parking.
  14. Wildwood Park
    • 6 acres – 7 S. Division Street – corner of Division & Boyer Avenue
    • Play equipment and a shelter building to reserve. Restrooms and parking.
  15. Menlo Park
    • 2 acres – 1242 Alvarado Terrace – at Alvarado & Division
    • Menlo Park features a playground, large shade trees, basketball court, tennis court.   Restrooms.
  16. Vista Terrace Park
    • 7 acres – 925 Mountain Park Drive
    • Playground, baseball fields, soccer fields and bicycle trail.   No restrooms.
  17. Eastgate Lions Park
    • 12 acres – 2140 Tacoma St. – corner of Tacoma and Wilbur.
    • West entrance to the Mill Creek recreational trail, basketball court, play equipment, and a shelter to reserve. Home of Valley Little League. Parking and restrooms.
  18. Mill Creek Sportsplex
    • 50 acres – 111 Tausick Way
    • Three lighted softball fields and two soccer fields.  Adult and youth softball and soccer leagues make this one of the City's most intensely used parks. Restrooms and parking.
  19. Volunteer Park 
    • Corner of Alder and Palouse Streets.
    • Home of the space shuttle Challenger Memorial and the Spanish American War Memorial.   No restrooms or parking.
  20. Carnegie
    • 109 S. Palouse – corner of Palouse and Poplar.
    • This building houses the Pottery Painting Studio, art programs, and fitness programs.  Limited parking on site.  Additional parking at Public Library.
