Law Enforcement Citizens Academy

The goal of the Walla Walla Police Department Citizen's Academy is to provide our community an understanding of how law enforcement agencies and the judicial system work for you. This task is accomplished through several evenings of education and interaction with members of law enforcement and the judicial community.

The Citizen's Academy presents an opportunity for citizens to "connect" with law enforcement on a continuing basis, to the benefit of both law enforcement and our community.

2016 Law Enforcement Citizen's Academy - REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR 2016

The Walla Walla Police Department is pleased to announce its next Law Enforcement Citizen's Academy, which will be February 11, 2016 – April 28, 2016; 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Participants will spend about 3 hours in a classroom once a week for approximately 12 weeks.  Registration deadline is January 29, 2016, and it is limited to 30 participants.

The goal of the Citizens Academy is to provide our community an understanding of how law enforcement agencies and the judicial system work for you. This task is accomplished through several evenings of classroom education and interaction with members of law enforcement and the judicial community.
The Law Enforcement Citizens Academy will take place at the Walla Walla Police Department, Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office, Juvenile Justice Center, Walla Walla County Superior Court building, Emergency Management and the WESCOM 911 Communication Center.
We encourage our graduates to continue their involvement with the Police Department by becoming volunteers. Our volunteers are involved with the laserfiche, radar reader board project, graffiti abatement and special events such as National Night Out.
The Citizen's Academy is a great way to learn about your community, meet nice people, and get to know the men and women of law enforcement.
